So Funny-But The Kid Can Move To The Beat

During a production of "The REAL Christmas Story", and during a rather serious song, Zachary commenced to boogy-ing down.  He is such a hoot!  I can't wait until he decides to behave himself and actually listen at dance, he is going to be one heck of a cutie on stage one day!  I just love that kid!

Zach's Speech Assessment

I just assessed Zach's speech today, 12/13/10, and he did fairly well!  Over the next few months we will work on the following:

medial and ending y
medial b
medial t
ending d
beginning, medial, and ending k
beginning, medial, and ending g
medial sl
medial pl
It is so much fun to work with him!  In an effort to save money on speech therapy, I am going to give it a try myself and see how far we can go.  We'll consult with an expert if this process does not prove to be highly beneficial.  I am so fortunate to be home with my kids these days!

Zach and Haley's Van Ride Conversation

Zach:  What do trees eat?
Haley:  Light
Zach:  We could use a flashlight to grow a tree.
Haley:  Zach, you're a genius!
Zach:  I know.

Reading "I Spy" with Mommy

I read "I Spy" from Dr. Maggie's Phonics Readers with Zachary today.  We cuddled up on the red couch together under a blanket and sounded out the words.  He did AWESOME!  I really think that he is ready to learn to read!  After the first page or so he read "I", "a", "the", "and", and sounded out short a words like "hat", "rat", "mat", and "cat".  I am so proud of him.  He used his little finger to follow along.  So sweet!  :)

Funny Things Zachary Has Said Lately-Never To Forget

On the way home from swimming today Zachary asked me, "Mommy, one day will you get a pouch in your tummy-for the baby?"  "You know, like a kangaroo?"  He was so serious!  I love how precious they are and how much what they say really makes sense if you think about it enough.  I love my Zach-man!

He also said that the baby in my tummy would be a boy long before we actually confirmed this through ultrasound at 13 weeks and 1 day.  His theory is that boys come from girls and girls come from boys.  You heard it Daddies, I guess you grow and produce the girls.  If only that were the way that it worked.  So when we told him the news about having a boy he said, "I know, boys come from girls!".  Love him!
